Influenza often starts suddenly and may be accompanied by a high fever, dry cough, sore throat, body aches, and significant fatigue. Influenza can have a severe course and cause complications, especially in people at higher risk.
Vaccination against influenza reduces the risk of illness, severe cases, and complications. Since influenza viruses constantly change, and immunity after vaccination decreases over time, it is recommended to get vaccinated annually.
The best time for influenza vaccination is before the active circulation of viruses begins, usually in the fall. However, if you haven't had the chance to get vaccinated in the fall, it is still possible to get vaccinated later during the flu season.
Influenza is a highly contagious disease. Among its possible complications are pneumonia, otitis media, bronchitis, and exacerbation of chronic diseases.
Increased risk of severe illness and complications is present among young children, people aged 65 and older, pregnant individuals, people with chronic diseases, and individuals with weakened immune systems.

According to Ukrainian law, specifically Article 43 of the Law of Ukraine "Fundamentals of Ukrainian Legislation on Health Care," a doctor's consultation prior to vaccination is mandatory.
Who can receive vaccinations?
Vaxigrip is intended for the active immunization of adults, including pregnant women, and children aged 6 months and older.
The inactivated influenza vaccine can be administered during pregnancy. Vaccination is also recommended for older adults and individuals with chronic diseases, as these groups are at higher risk of complications from influenza.
Before vaccination, a healthcare professional will assess your health status and inquire about previous reactions to vaccinations, allergic reactions, and possible contraindications.
Children under the age of 9 who have not previously been vaccinated against influenza require a second dose of the vaccine at least 4 weeks later — the vaccination schedule is determined by the doctor according to the child’s age and previous vaccination history.
If you have an acute illness or high fever at the time of vaccination, inform the doctor. In this case, vaccination may be postponed until recovery.
