Endoscopy
Endoscopy means any type of diagnostic examination that implies the checkup of human body cavities with the special device called endoscope.
The endoscope is an optical device located at the end of a thin flexible tube used to examine hollow organs and body cavities.
The examination allows a diagnostician to examine the mucous membrane of the organ, to find neoformations, inflammatory processes and other structural changes. The method is widely used in surgery, gastroenterology, pulmonology, otorhinolaryngology and other medical areas.
Endoscopy as a treatment procedure
Endoscopy in modern conditions is performed not only for diagnostic purposes (checkup or sampling for a histopathological examination), but also for the treatment (removal of neoformations, concrements in biliary tracts; foreign bodies; sanitation of the tracheobronchial tree, reopening of a hollow organ in case of stenosis, and other types of treatment).
The equipment installed in endoscopic rooms of Dobrobut clinic chain gives the possibility to determine a diagnosis with maximum precision, to notice changes in the condition of internal organs timely, to perform sampling for biopsy precisely and, in some cases, to remove undesired neoformations right away.
The modern endoscopes Olympus and Pentax made in Japan are used in Dobrobut clinic chain that allow to perform all the endoscopic manipulations that exist throughout the world.
In total, more than 20 types of various endoscopies are applied in medicine. The most popular types are as follows:
- Videogastroduodenoscopy
- Colonoscopy
- Fibrobronchoscopy
- Cystoscopy
- Rectoromanoscopy
