Phototherapy is the safest non-invasive method of treating and preventing chronic skin diseases. In the children's outpatient clinic "Dobrobut," the UVB 311NM device manufactured by Philips is used for phototherapy. 311NM is the wavelength at which the rays of this part of the spectrum contain the maximum amount of "therapeutic" ultraviolet (UV) and the minimum amount of UV that can cause side effects.

Narrowband UVB has a highly pronounced biological effect, providing local immunomodulatory and anti-inflammatory action. The narrowband phototherapy method can be used in the treatment of children from the age of 5 (in Ukraine, phototherapy is allowed for children from the age of 12), as well as pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers. Phototherapy is often the treatment of choice for these patient categories, as the intake of certain medications or even the use of some ointments may be contraindicated or restricted.
