Frequently Asked Questions

1. Why should I undergo screening after the age of 40?

To take care of your health in advance. After the age of 40, the risk of cardiovascular diseases and diabetes increases significantly.

In Ukraine, 60% of premature deaths are caused by cardiovascular diseases — more than 1,000 people die from them every day.

The situation with diabetes is also alarming: more than 1.2 million Ukrainians currently live with this diagnosis, and about half of them are unaware of their condition.

At the same time, the war has had a significant impact on the mental health of Ukrainians. Up to 10 million people may face mental health issues as a result of the war.

That is why the health screening program has been launched — to detect diseases earlier, identify health risks in time, and prevent complications.

2. How can I undergo health screening?

Starting from January 1, 2026, everyone aged 40 and over will receive a notification in the Diia app 30 days after their birthday with an invitation to undergo screening.

After confirming participation in the program or ordering the service through a CNAP (Administrative Service Center), you will receive a Diia.Card with UAH 2,000 credited to it to pay for the screening program.

After that, you book an appointment at Dobrobut at a convenient time, receive medical services and health recommendations, and pay using the Diia.Card.

3. Is the service free for the patient?

Yes. The basic health screening is free for the patient and fully covered by the state.

People aged 40+ receive a one-time state benefit of UAH 2,000 to undergo the screening.

4. If I already have diagnosed diabetes or cardiovascular disease, do I still need this screening?

Yes. Even if you already have a diagnosis, screening helps monitor your health condition and identify other risks at an early stage.

5. Are there any restrictions based on place of residence? I am registered in Lviv but live in Kyiv.

You can undergo screening at any outpatient facility of the Dobrobut Medical Network, regardless of your place of registration.

6. How long does the screening take?

The basic health screening can be completed in one visit to the medical center (approximately 60 minutes).

After the test results are ready, the doctor will provide a consultation and health recommendations online or offline, at your choice.

7. What does the screening include?

Health screening is based on evidence-based medicine and includes a comprehensive set of medical interventions:

  • Physical examination (measurement of blood pressure, heart rate, weight, height, waist circumference, etc.);
  • Lifestyle questionnaire, symptom screening, and risk assessment;
  • Laboratory and instrumental tests showing how the heart, blood vessels, and kidneys function
    (lipid profile, glycated hemoglobin, electrolytes, and, if indicated: serum creatinine, estimated glomerular filtration rate, urine albumin-to-creatinine ratio).

After receiving the results, the doctor will conduct a consultation and provide recommendations for further steps.

8. What if I need additional tests for a more complete understanding of my condition?

The basic screening is fully covered by the state.

If the doctor recommends additional examinations or tests, you may undergo them at our medical facility at your own expense or at another medical facility under the Medical Guarantees Program or at your own expense.

9. Can I undergo screening more than once?

The program provides one free screening per year for each person aged 40+.
