PSA test
PSA – is a specific protein produced by the cells of the prostate gland. Normally, in healthy men, this protein is found only in the seminal ducts. An increase in the level of PSA in the blood can be a worrying signal and indicate the presence of diseases or pathological processes in the prostate gland.
The test is a screening diagnostic procedure aimed at the early detection of prostate cancer. The diagnosis for the presence of PSA in the blood is conducted through a blood test. It is recommended that this test be performed annually for all men over the age of 40.
