Varicocele surgery (Marmar technique)
Marmar technique is a surgical method for treating varicose veins of the scrotum (varicocele). It is indicated for patients with varicocele, which leads to male infertility, testicular atrophy or chronic pain syndrome. The procedure involves ligating the varicose veins of the spermatic cord through an incision in the top of the scrotum. The operation can be performed both under local and general anesthesia.
With local anesthesia,preparation is not required. With general anesthesia anesthesiologist’s opinion is required.
The operation takes 60 minutes.
