Prostate massage with collection of secretions for examination

During the procedure a doctor lubricates the index finger with a gel and inserts it into the rectum to stimulate the prostate by pressing and massaging its surface. As a result, the secretion of the prostate is released and sent for microscopic examination.

The procedure is not performed if there are signs of severe inflammation and severe pain in the prostate with digital rectal investigation and hemorrhoids.

Preparation for the procedure necessitates cleansing the rectum from feces.
