Surgical treatment of oncological diseases
Surgeons at the Dobrobut Oncology Center perform surgical interventions of any level of complexity. From minimally invasive (endoscopic and laparoscopic) to major open surgeries.
Laparoscopic and endoscopic methods of surgery are considered to be minimally traumatic and have a number of advantages:
- Fast recovery after surgery and return to normal life
- Minimal restrictions in movement
- Cosmetic postoperative scar
- Reduced risks of bleeding and infectious complications
Our surgeons always take the time to carefully plan the surgery and explain the details of the intervention to patients. They answer all questions and stay in touch with the patient throughout the entire treatment process.
We perform surgical interventions for the following oncological diseases:
- skin cancer, melanoma
- breast cancer
- soft tissue and bone cancer
- head and neck cancer (tongue, oral cavity, larynx, pharynx, salivary glands)
- cancer of the lungs, bronchi, mediastinum
- cancer of the esophagus and stomach
- cancer of the liver, pancreas, bile ducts, gallbladder
- cancer of the thyroid gland
- cancer of the small, large and rectum, anus
- cancer of the retroperitoneal space
- cancer of the kidneys, ureters, bladder, prostate gland
- cancer of the cervix and body of the uterus, tubes, ovaries, vulva
In some cases, before or after surgery, patients may be prescribed radiation therapy, chemotherapy, or other treatment. These methods are aimed at shrinking the tumor or preventing local recurrence and metastasis.
Multidisciplinary oncology consultation
A precise and detailed treatment plan is drawn up individually for each patient at a multidisciplinary oncology consultation. It includes practitioners of various fields who, together with the attending oncologist, will study the patient's profile, examination results, take into account his or her health status and concomitant diseases, assess the risks and prognosis of the disease, and then prescribe the most effective treatment tactics.
