Drug treatment of oncological diseases
Drug treatment, or systemic therapy, is the most common method of treating cancer, which uses drugs in the form of drips, injections, or pills. Thus, medications circulate through the circulatory system to destroy tumor cells in many places in the body.
The following methods of drug treatment are available at the Dobrobut Oncology Center
Systemic therapy is used at different stages of the disease and for different purposes:
- preoperative, or neoadjuvant - used to reduce the size of the tumor before surgery and improve treatment prognosis;
- postoperative, or adjuvant, radiation therapy reduces the likelihood of disease recurrence and/or metastases;
- palliative - stops the growth of malignant cells and destroys them to improve the duration and quality of life if the tumor has spread to different parts of the body.
The Dobrobut Oncology Center has created conditions for comfortable undergoing of drug treatment courses.
Patient care and personal support servic
To support people facing this serious diagnosis, we have created a Care and Personal Support Service for cancer patients. This is a service that provides comprehensive support to patients, monitoring their condition and treatment processes.
People with cancer may experience various symptoms, but it is not always possible to ask a specialist. Managers of the Care and Individual Support Service are constantly in touch with the patient to help or quickly refer them to a doctor.
You can contact the manager of the Oncology Center's Care and Personal Support Service from Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 18:00 by calling the number listed on our website.
