Cryosclerotherapy of the lower extremities

A sedentary lifestyle, age-related changes, chronic diseases - all of these can lead to worsening venous blood flow and dilation of blood vessels, which may manifest as the bulging of veins, dilated skin vessels, vascular networks, or vascular "stars".

The "gold standard" for the removal of dilated skin vessels is sclerotherapy. In the “Dobrobut” medical network, sclerotherapy is performed using its modification known as cryosclerotherapy. The main advantage of this technique is the low recurrence rate, as well as a quick recovery period and the absence of restrictions after the procedure.

The essence of cryosclerotherapy lies in cooling the blood vessels before the sclerosing agent is administered. In the “Dobrobut” medical network, the Zimmer cryo cooler is used for this purpose. The cryo cooler provides significant cooling to large vessels (reticular veins) that supply other vessels, causing them to constrict and completely expel blood. After that, the sclerosing agent is injected, which blocks blood flow and ensures the complete disappearance of the vessel.

The procedure is carried out using Syris visualization systems and AccuVein augmented reality: thanks to infrared light, the phlebologist can see and affect the vessel that has become invisible after cooling, and due to contrasting light - see the smallest vessels that need to be affected. The enlarged image is displayed on a special monitor, ensuring more targeted work with the vessels.

Additional visualization systems improve the speed and quality of the procedure.

In the “Dobrobut” medical network, we use soft and combined sclerosing agents, which in combination with cooling technology provide maximum effect from the procedure.

The procedure has no contraindications. The results can be seen almost immediately after the procedure, but they will be more pronounced and stable within a period of 2 weeks to 2 months.

After the procedure, minimal side effects may appear in the form of bruises, which quickly resolve and do not cause discomfort to the patient.

The restrictions after such a procedure are standard, but the period of wearing compression garments is significantly shorter.

The procedure lasts up to 1.5 hours.
