To stop bleeding and first aid for injuries, the following are used:

  • tourniquet that stops the blood;
  • non-sterile bandages (5m x 5 cm – 2 pieces, 5m x 10 cm – 2 pieces, 7m x 14 cm – 1 piece, 5m x 7 cm – 2 pieces);
  • sterile bandages (5m x 10 cm – 2 pieces, 7m x 14 cm – 1 piece, 5m x 7 cm – 2 pieces);
  • bandaging package;
  • packing of gauze napkins;
  • bactericidal patch (4 x 10 cm – 2 pieces, 1.9 x 7.2 cm – 10 pieces);
  • roll plaster (1 x 250 cm - 1 piece);
  • resuscitation device for artificial respiration "mouth to mouth";
  • scissors;
  • medical gloves;
  • recommendations regarding the use of the first aid kit;
  • a case for packing tools.

As you can see, there are no medicines in the first-aid kit, but their presence is allowed if the car owner wishes and needs it. If you are guided by the prescription of medications, then you can add drugs to stop bleeding, pain relievers and anti-inflammatory drugs to your first aid kit.

Rules for using a first-aid kit:

All manipulations for providing first aid to victims of road accidents should be carried out in medical gloves.

In the event of arterial bleeding, it is necessary to pinch the damaged vessel with your fingers, apply a tourniquet above the point of damage and make a tight bandage with bandages and napkins. Be sure to record the time of applying the harness.

If the victim is not breathing, it is necessary to carry out artificial respiration using a special device located in the first-aid kit.

When wounds are detected, they are bandaged using sterile bandages and napkins. If the wound is not bleeding, you need to put a napkin on it and fix it with a plaster roll. Very small wounds can be simply covered with a bactericidal patch.

Expiry date of car first aid kit:

The expiration date of the first-aid kit is always indicated on the package. As for the shelf life of bandages and bandages, they can last for many years, but plasters and tourniquets can only be used for 5-6 years.

In general, it can be stated that due to the fact that medicines are no longer present in the first-aid kit, its shelf life has significantly increased and is now 4.5 years, plus another six months is allocated to the driver for its replacement.
