Memo for patients with Covid-19

During the pandemic, we are all stressed: we are worried about our health, the health of our loved ones and the situation in the world in general. We are studying WHO and Ministry of Health protocols and developing our own, so we already know how to treat Covid-19.

If you have been confirmed to have coronavirus disease, first of all, take care of your health and stay calm. Yes, the virus is dangerous, but with timely and proper treatment, recovery will not be long in coming - we at Dobrobut will do everything possible to keep you healthy.

Below, we briefly share small instructions that will help you and others to overcome the path of recovery safely.

Treatment

After the diagnosis is confirmed, you need to monitor your health and stay in constant contact with your doctor. You can contact the doctors of the Dobrobut network to accompany you during treatment. We will also help you to apply for a sick leave if necessary and will always be in touch. If the condition requires hospitalization, we will admit you to our inpatient department (if there are places) or to a public clinic.

If you have a family doctor, you should contact them after the diagnosis is confirmed and stay in touch to coordinate treatment and monitor your condition.

Monitor your body temperature at least 2 times a day or whenever you feel unwell. If you have a pulse oximeter (a device for measuring oxygen in the blood), check your blood oxygen saturation level.

If this figure is below 94%, please consult a doctor or notify our patient support service.

Hygiene.

Remember that the virus can pose a threat to people around you, so we advise you to follow the rules of self-isolation responsibly, especially for people at risk: patients with cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and the elderly. If you have an urgent need to leave the house to go to the hospital or for diagnostics, be sure to wear a surgical medical mask and gloves and maintain social distance. Cough and sneeze only into a napkin or elbow. But it is better to stay at home until you are fully recovered - take care of yourself and others.

Do not forget to wash your hands regularly for 40 seconds with soap and warm water, ventilate the room you are in, and wet clean the room and disinfect your personal belongings (phone, glasses, desk).

Deterioration of the condition

If your condition does not improve within 5 days after your doctor's consultation and the start of treatment, be sure to seek a second consultation to change or adjust the treatment tactics and to prescribe additional tests if necessary. In case of persistent deterioration, hospitalization may be recommended.

If you feel a sharp deterioration in your condition - a body temperature above 38.5° that is not brought down by antipyretic drugs, severe cough, shortness of breath, rapid breathing more than 30 times per minute, general unmotivated weakness, and other symptoms that cause you anxiety - we recommend that you do not hesitate to call for emergency medical care.

Recovery

Usually on the 13th day of illness (from the day of PCR collection), but not earlier than 3 days after the symptoms disappear, consult a doctor to decide on further tactics for removing yourself from self-isolation.

If the disease was asymptomatic, you should consult a doctor on the 13th day after the day of the positive PCR test and decide whether to terminate self-isolation.
