- management of patients with neurosurgical oncological and neuroendocrine pathologies: pituitary adenomas and related endocrine disorders (acromegaly, Cushing's disease, hyperprolactinemia), craniopharyngiomas, cysts of the Rathke's pouch and intermediate lobe, hypophysitis; tumors of the skull base (chordomas, chondrosarcomas), meninges (meningiomas), dermoid and epidermoid formations (cholesteatomas), germinomas and metastases; intracerebral tumors (gliomas, glioblastomas, metastases), intraventricular neoplasms (ependymomas, subependymomas, neurocytomas, third ventricle tumors), pathology of the pineal region (pineal gland cysts, pinealomas, pinealoblastomas), colloid cysts of the third ventricle, intraorbital tumors, as well as diseases of the posterior cranial fossa (neurinomas, meningiomas, dermoids, epidermoids, hemangioblastomas, cavernomas);
- treatment of patients with neurosurgical pathology associated with intracranial pressure disorders: idiopathic intracranial hypertension, normotensive hydrocephalus, occlusive hydrocephalus, empty sella syndrome, as well as nasal cerebrospinal fluid leakage;
- surgical treatment (taking into account modern safety standards): endoscopic transnasal minimally invasive surgery for pituitary and skull base tumors; transnasal and transcranial treatment of nasal cerebrospinal fluid leakage with defect repair; microsurgical removal of tumors of the anterior, middle, and posterior cranial fossae; keyhole access for biopsies and tumor removal; endoscopic transventricular interventions; cerebrospinal fluid shunt surgery, triventriculostomy; medical treatment of hormonally active pituitary adenomas in cases where surgery is not indicated.
- The most common complaints: general weakness, progressive drowsiness, sleep disturbances (including panic attacks), frequent dizziness and headaches, nausea and vomiting against the background of headaches; visual impairment (decreased acuity, narrowing of the visual field, double vision, strabismus, drooping eyelids, inability to open the eye, protrusion of the eyeballs), hearing loss; impaired memory, attention, behavior, coordination, gait and movement, tremors; pelvic organ dysfunction (urinary incontinence); endocrine and metabolic changes — menstrual cycle disorders, breast discharge, decreased libido and potency, thirst and frequent urination (including in diabetes insipidus); weight gain, bone and joint pain, stretch marks, swelling of the hands and feet, changes in facial features, enlargement of the nose, tongue, and lips, voice changes, facial flushing; cardiovascular manifestations — high blood pressure and frequent heartbeat.
