- "Some parents interpret the information in their own way without understanding the terms during reading of the medicine instructions. A medicine for children that had the difficult birth has appeared on the Ukrainian market recently. One of its ingredients is a biological agent contained in living organisms. It is indicated in the instruction that the agent was inserted in lab rats with the marked radioisotope during medicine testing to understand if it was absorbed externally or not. I prescribed the medicine to a child with the difficult birth history once, however, during the follow-up visit the father answered that the child had not taken it, because the parents had read that the medicine increased the level of radiation. Wit works woe! It is important to explain all the aspects of treatment in completely clear and simple, anticipating all possible misinterpretations.”
- “My patients often wait for the recommendations in connected areas, ask how to raise a child, which toys to buy.”

Doctor's advice:
- “The cases when we face diagnostics of problems from related specialties or with children with the history of treatment abroad stick in memory. A mother of 5-months old baby born in Norway came to me on the advice of a massage therapist with complaints of the problems with carrying the head. During the examination the baby presented with nystagmus, but a doctor from Norway considered the situation as normal. Our ophthalmologist urgently diagnosed cataract. It was successfully excised in Norway, but the problem was as follows: if they had not performed the surgery until six months of age, the child would have remained blind.” “I attend preventive examinations and get vaccinations on the regular basis.”
Advantages of MM 'Dobrobut':
- “Our neurologists use international protocols for treatment of child epilepsy. We read international neurological journals, take foreign professionals for a model.”
- “Tremendous pace of development of possibilities of examination – MRI, computer tomography, neurosonography have become routine examinations. In Dobrobut we can study the anatomy of brain, vessels, examine cerebral blood flow with ultrasound which is noninvasive and painless, and gives the large amount of information required by a neurologist.”
- “Parents of children with special needs do not receive enough information at the level of common polyclinics. My own experience is that I worked in the medical and psychological guidance center – the institution consulting families with similar problems. Team work with psychologists, psychiatrists, speech therapists and neurologists gave me extensive knowledge and the possibility to advice where to seek psychological and logopedic support. How fast a child can progress in mental and speech development depends on the timeliness of the multidimensional approach.”
